A dose of expertise from the Varazdin FOI has found its place in the distant Maldives as the Varazdin Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI) has implemented an e-learning system with project partners called AMED - Advancing Higher Education in the Maldives Through E-learning Development.
Aware of the seriousness of the situation and the catastrophic consequences that have befallen the entire academic community in Ukraine, where normal work at universities has been disabled, the FOI has offered Ukrainian universities the opportunity for students to continue with their studies and for scientists and teachers to continue with their work.
The Faculty of Organization and Informatics is expanding its capacities and will soon move into the new building - Villa Oršić, which should be completely renovated by the end of this year at the latest. With the renovation, this space will become a new incubator for the development of research potentials and the implementation of teaching and extracurricular activities of students and scientists at the FOI. There is intensive work on the interior and exterior design of the space, which was filmed by a drone by students and members of the IOT Lab FOI. See a snapshot of the restoration here.
From 7 to 11 February 2022, a week of development of teacher competencies was held at the FOI, during which seven workshops were held. The workshops covered topics of innovative learning and teaching strategies that each teacher can apply to improve teaching in their subjects. The interest of the participants was extremely high, and the workshops were held in contact at the FOI and through the virtual room.
As an introduction to summer semester of the academic year 2021/22, FOI International Relations Office organizes a Welcome Week for international students who will study at FOI in the upcoming semester. Welcome Week will be held from 21st to 25th February 2022.
On 9th February 2022 a kickoff meeting was held for Erasmus+ funded project Digital Platform Enterprise, acronym DEMO. The meeting was held online in the organization of lead partner Universitatea Politehnica din Bucuresti from Romania.
In the week from February 7 to 11, 2022, a week of teacher competence development was held at FOI, during which seven workshops were held. The workshops covered the topics of innovative learning and teaching strategies that every teacher can apply to improve teaching in their subjects. The interest of the participants was extremely high, and the workshops were held face-to-face at the FOI and through a virtual room. The workshops were organized as part of three projects supported by FOI: DIP2Future, Rapide and Study4Career.
On Wednesday 26th and on Thursday 27th January 2022 kickoff meeting was held for the Erasmus+ project BEE with APEX, full name of the project Better Employability for Everyone with APEX.
On Wednesday, January 20th and Thursday, January 21st 2022, the kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ KA220-SCH - project titled OOP4FUN - Object Oriented Programming for Fun was held. The meeting was organized online and hosted by the project coordinator, Faculty of Management Science and Informatics, University of Žilina. This 32-month project started on January 16th 2022 and it’s funded under the Erasmus + program “Cooperation partnerships in school education” of the European Commission in the total amount of 283.228,00 euros.
We are pleased to announce that the 33rd edition of the International Conference "Central European Conference on Information and Intelligent Systems" - CECIIS 2022 will be held in Dubrovnik, Croatia, from the 21st to the 23rd of September 2022. The main topic of CECIIS 2022 conference is 'Smart Industry in post Covid-19 society'.
