On 5 and 6 November 2024, a conference on Challenges in Transforming Education and Enhancing the Future of Education in the Gulf Countries, organized by the Gulf Arab States Educational Research Center, was held in Kuwait. Professor Divjak held an inspiring keynote speech entitled Reimagining Education: What is the Role of Humans in the Era of AI?.
On 4th October, 2024, the initial online meeting of the Erasmus+ project SuMoS - Strengthening the ecosystem for sustainable student mobility was held.
Within the 35th jubilee international Central European Conference on Information and Intelligent Systems (CECIIS), which is held in Varaždin, a work meeting and workshop of the project financed by the Croatian Science Foundation entitled "HELA - Improving HEI maturity to implement learning analytics" was held.
As part of the DigEntre project - "Digitalization in entrepreneurship in the context of response to exogenous shock: Drivers, obstacles and impact on the resilience of companies", led by Full Professor Marina Klačmer Čalopa, Ph.D., from the Faculty of Organization and Informatics of the University of Zagreb, field data collection using the method of phenomenological in-depth interviews with entrepreneurs is underway.
The 12th Student's Symposium on Research and Intercultural learning was held from July 10 to July 21th, 2024 at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio, Indiana State University in Terre Haute, IN and DePaul University Chicago, USA.
FOI students participated in the second summer school of the Erasmus+ project DEMO that was held in Bucharest, Romania from July 14th to July 19th 2024.
Within the framework of the DigEntre project - Digitalization in Entrepreneurship in the Context of Response to Exogenous Shock: Drivers, Barriers and Impact on Firm Resilience, research began using the survey method as well as phenomenological in-depth interviews.
As part of the 'Brucoš 101' project, the portal Srednja.hr declared the best student projects in the country and rewarded them, and second place was won by the Student Council of FOI for the project 'Green step forward: Days of sustainable development', which was carried out in the spring in Varaždin. Brucoš 101 is intended for all those who plan to become students and helps them prepare for graduation and introduces them to the world of studying.
The sixteenth FOI International Days took place at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics in Varaždin from May 15 to 17, 2024. The central theme of the event was Sustainable Partnerships. This year, we hosted a record number of international participants. Almost 60 teachers, researchers, experts and students from 10 countries across three continents (Europe, North America, and Africa) attended the event, with nearly 350 participants taking part in the three-day programme. FOI International Days 2024 were organized by the FOI International Relations Office.
