From March 3rd to 7th, 2025, the 15th International Conference on Learning Analytics and Knowledge (LAK25) was held in Dublin, organized by the Society for Learning Analytics Research (SoLAR), the leading international and interdisciplinary research network in the field of learning analytics. LAK25 is the most prestigious and competitive conference on learning analytics worldwide.
The Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI) is once again actively participating in the Science Festival, which will take place from May 5 to May 10, 2025. This year's festival theme is "Networks," and FOI teachers have prepared a series of engaging workshops designed to bring science closer to young audiences and the general public. During the Science Festival, FOI will host numerous participants through interactive workshops covering various aspects of networks – from internet and social networks to mathematical and economic connections. The workshops are tailored for different age groups and will be held at FOI premises, elementary schools, and kindergartens.
From February 12 to 14, 2025, the kick-off meeting of the Erasmus+ project DIGITAsia – Digital Transformation of Asian Higher Education was held at the partner institutions in Sri Lanka, coordinated by the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI) under the leadership of Prof. Igor Balaban, Ph.D.
The final conference of the scientific project HELA – Improving HEI maturity to implementlearning analytics was held on 25 February, 2025. at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics (UNIZG FOI). This significant research project, funded by the Croatian Science Foundation, brought together leading national and international experts with the goal of improving the educational process through learning analytics. The project was led by Prof. Nina Begičević Ređep, Ph.D. with Prof. Diana Šimić, Ph.D. as the co-leader.

During this academic year, the Joint Creative Classroom (JCC) was successfully implemented as part of the Program Analysis and Development course, led by Assoc. Prof. Zlatko Stapić, PhD. The second edition of JCC was organized in collaboration with the company SPAN, providing students with a unique opportunity to apply their acquired knowledge to real-world projects and prepare for a professional environment.
As part of the Time 4 Science project, Assoc. Prof. Enes Sukić, PhD from the Faculty of Information Technology and Engineering visited FOI to deliver a lecture on contemporary challenges in scientific publishing. The event took place on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 in the Faculty Hall.
