WeRin: The importance of women in entrepreneurship

March 8th, International Women's Day, provides an excellent opportunity to highlight the importance of women in entrepreneurship. An inclusive entrepreneurship ecosystem provides a vehicle for empowering women to start an entrepreneurship venture. The WeRin project consortium, of which FOI is a part, has been working to make entrepreneurship education and support programmes more inclusive for women for two years now, with the aim of increasing the share of female graduate entrepreneurs.

The FOI project team will mark International Women's Day with internal meetings to conduct a review of what has been achieved, what is in progress and the agenda for future project activities. The most crucial activity is finalising the Knowledge Port, which comprises educational resources to support capacity building. The Knowledge Port is in the last stage of development and is undergoing a final peer review before launching. The FOI team, who has led this activity has been involved in researching and preparing material and will continue to share and promote the work of WeRin on the project and our institution's social media to highlight the work of WeRin and the importance of women's entrepreneurship.
