FOI International Days 2021 will be a virtual two-day event. First and main day is Thursday, May 20, 2021. The programme will start at 10 a.m. with the presentation of Mr. Matija Matoković, Policy Officer at European Commission DG Research and Innovation. The focus of his presentation will be on green and digital transition and opportunities we have in the EU in that sense. This presentation will be followed by a panel discussion "Rethinking higher education for new EU programmes". The idea of this panel is to discuss changes that already started to happen in European higher education, the possibilities that the new era of EU programmes brings and plans for future projects in that scope. There are 6 panellists are from 6 institutions: Prof. Blaženka Divjak, Ph.D. from FOI UNIZG, Dr. Nomeda Gudelienė from Mykolas Romeris University, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Assoc. Prof. Martina Rašticová from Mendel University in Brno, Prof. Bart Rientes, Ph.D. from The Open University and Mr. Matija Matoković from European Commission DG Research and Innovation.
In the second part, 4 partner universities will present their study programmes, students, international cooperation, and research fields: Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) from Germany Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) from Lithuania, Mendel University in Brno (MENDELU) from Czech Republic, The Open University (OU) from United Kingdom.
Afternoon part is dedicated to breakout section named „Research. Innovation. Networking - Growing through sharing ideas“.
The aim of this event is threefold:
1) to present research capacities and initiatives (5 minutes) to the audience,
2) to network with researchers and groups from other HEIs institutions through virtual space for informal discussion and
3) to explore the possibilities for future cooperation.
Within this section, the following parallel topics will be organized:
- ICT in Education
- Internet of Things
- Data Analytics
- Entrepreneurship and Innovation
- Digital Transformation
The last event of Thursday are two invited lectures by two prominent experts and scientists (Prof. Victoria Appatova, Ph.D. from the Universiy of Cincinnati, USA and Ms Andreia Carita from University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam, Netherlands) that will be held under the course Negotiation in International Environment.

The second day, Friday, May 21, 2021 is dedicated to FOI students. Two meetups for FOI students will be held. The working language will be Croatian.

The NGO “Mladi za Marof” will present opportunities for youth under the Erasmus+ programmes and few students will share their experience of participation in short exchanges.
