Collaboration with Hungary: Visit of students and professors from the University of Pannonia in Nagykanizsa

From January 15th to 16th, 2025, the Faculty of Organization and Informatics is hosting 15 students and 5 professors from the University of Pannonia in Nagykanizsa. This two-day visit is designed to enhance collaboration and facilitate the exchange of ideas between the two institutions. Initiated by the University of Pannonia, the visit builds on the successful collaboration established through the cross-border IC4HEDS project. At FOI, the project has been coordinated by Full Prof. Vjeran Strahonja, Ph.D., who, in collaboration with the FOI International Office, has created the program for the visit.

This two-day event has begun with introductions and presentations of both institutions. Following the initial activities, Hungarian students, together with current and former FOI students, had the opportunity to present their ideas and topics for their final and master’s theses. Special emphasis was placed on sharing experiences in the process of writing these papers. The guests from Hungary showcased their approach to final and master’s theses, while Assoc. Prof. Zlatko Stapić, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Education and Students, presented FOI's system and practices. During a dedicated workshop, participants explored opportunities for further collaboration between students and mentors in writing and supervising theses, paving the way for new joint projects and academic partnerships.

Additionally, two practical workshops are organized. A workshop on creating professional LinkedIn profiles was led by Amalija Koren Cavaleiro, Head of FOI Support and Career Development Centre. On Thursday, a Low Coding workshop involving FOI students will be led by Full Prof. Vjeran Strahonja, Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Dijana Oreški, Ph.D. and Larisa Hrustek, MSc.

Participants also have the chance to explore the city of Varaždin through an organized city tour.

This visit provides an excellent opportunity for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and the establishment of valuable connections between institutions. We anticipate that this meeting will inspire new ideas and open doors for future joint projects!
