CECIIS 2024 held with a focus on Cyber-Physical and Embedded Systems

The jubilee 35th international scientific conference CECIIS 2024, Central European Conference on Information and Intelligent Systems was officially opened on Wednesday, September 18th, 2024, at the Faculty of Organization and Informatics (FOI) in Varaždin. The conference, which lasted until September 20th, gathered a large number of scientists, researchers, representatives of the academic community and industry, from 14 countries and 3 continents.

 

Total of 168 authors participated in this year's conference, and 49 accepted scientific papers published through 9 scientific sections and 19 posters were presented. The CECIIS program included three invited lectures, among which Prof. Srđan Čapkun, Ph.D. from ETH University in Zurich, Prof. Hanni Muukkonen, Ph.D. from the University of Oulu in Finland and Prof. Bart Rienties, Ph.D. from the Open University in the United Kingdom.

The conference was attended by 30 students as part of the 14th student section, where an invited lecture was given by Prof. Machdel Matthee, Ph.D. from the University of Pretoria. During the three days, a significant number of parallel events were held, including workshops, pitches and an exhibition, and a panel discussion called "It's Time 4 Digital Growth", which addressed topics such as cyber security and digital inequality, attracted special attention.

Also, during the CECIIS 2024 conference, the 8th Interdepartmental Meeting of Business Informatics was held with the theme "State and experiences in business informatics – past, present and future".

The conference was supported by a large number of sponsors and donors.
