A reception was held for FOI's student-athletes who won medals at the STEM Games competition

FOI students, who achieved exceptional results at the STEM Games competition this academic year, attended today's reception by the FOI Management. Dean Full Prof. Marina Klačmer Čalopa, Ph.D., Vice Dean, Associate Professor Martina Tomičić Furjan, Ph.D. and Vice Dean Associate Professor, Zlatko Stapić, Ph.D., Full Prof. Zlatko Erjavec, Ph.D. and Associate Professor Ivan Malbašić, Ph.D. praised the efforts that athletes and esports players make in order to achieve remarkable results at the level of the whole of Croatia.

One of the most significant international competitions for students, the STEM Games, which brings together almost two thousand students in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, was held this year from May 12 to 17, 2024 in Umag.

FOI students returned from the competition with as many as 10 medals in the following disciplines:

1st place Futsal Women

1st place Table tennis F

1st place Table tennis M

1st place eSports - League of Legends

1st place individual cross country Karmelo Mrvica

1st place individual rowing Lara Kljucarić

2nd place eSports - Rocket League

2nd place Volleyball Women

3rd place Handball Ž

3rd place Tech arena - Tomislav Hlevnjak, Petar Matišić, Stanko Smrček and Filip Šoštarić

Accompanying the students at this year's STEM Games was assistant Jelena Gusić Munđar and Vice Dean Full Prof. Zlatko Erjavec, Ph.D.

Support in going to the STEM Games was also provided by the FOI Center for Student Support and Career Development and a number of companies and organizations.
